Esther Faber of Watkins died on Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 76 years old.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 31, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas with interment in the parish cemetery.
Esther H. Faber was born on Aug. 18, 1926, in Eden Valley to Louis and Mary (Bauer) Nohner. She married Elmer Faber on Nov. 22, 1944, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eden Valley. They farmed near Watkins. Esther was employed at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins for 18 years before she retired in 2002. Esther was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was active in the Council of Catholic Women. She also was a member of the Watkins Senior Citizens and the Catholic Order of Foresters. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Jim Jewison; brothers and sister Elmer Nohner, Lawrence Nohner, Adrian Nohner and Gen Euerle.
She is survived by her husband Elmer Faber of Watkins; children Art Faber of Watkins, Judy Braegelmann of Waite Park, Sharon Jewison of Kimball, Gary Faber of Big Lake, Doreen (and Tom) Unterberger of Watkins; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters and brother Kathryn Lezer of Sauk Rapids, Adeline (and Romain) Fink of St. Cloud, Jerome (and Kathleen) Nohner of Watkins, Mary (and Virgil) Christoffer of Eden Valley.
Casket bearers were her grandchildren Jessie Baumann, Doug Jewison, Jason Unterberger, Chad Unterberger, Tracy Unterberger, Jeanne Viere and Greg Braegelmann. Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
