Eugene Donnay of St. Cloud, formerly of Watkins, died Monday, March 12, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 52.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 15, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Visitation will be from 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
Eugene C. Donnay was born in Watkins Feb. 5, 1955, to Alfred and Iris (Thiele) Donnay. He married Kathleen Boals Feb. 14, 1987, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin. They resided in Watkins where they were caretakers at the St. Anthony Manor for 11 years. They then resided in Albany for about seven years prior to moving to St. Cloud three years ago. Eugene was most recently employed as a telemarketer for the Epilepsy Foundation in St. Cloud. Eugene enjoyed making rosaries and knitting items on his knitting machine. His hobbies included playing cards, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his dog Curley.
Eugene was preceded in death by his grandparents, father-in-law Charles Boals, and infant sister Lisa.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen of St. Cloud; stepchildren Linda (and Paul) Schmiesing of Sauk Centre, and Laurie Miller of Bird Island; three step-grandchildren; his parents Alfred and Iris Donnay of Watkins; mother-in-law Dorothy Boals of Hutchinson; brothers and sisters Shirley (and Steve) Hill of Annandale, David (and Roxanne) Donnay of Waite Park, Mary (and Dan) Evans of St. Cloud, Barb (and Tom) Merdan of Shakopee, Larry (and Mary) Donnay of St. Augusta, Scott (and Kathy) Donnay of Jacksonville, Fla., and Todd (and Nicole) Donnay of Eden Valley; sister-in-law Sylvia “Rosemary” (and David) Feiler of Hutchinson.
