EV-W athletes not only earned honors on the field during the fall season but off the field as well.
The football team, volleyball team and girls?Äô cross country teams all were named 2016 State All-Academic ?ÄúGold?Äù teams, which is the highest level. The football team had a combined grade-point average about 3.26 and was one of three Class AA to receive the designation. The volleyball team, earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher to earn the gold award and the girls?Äô cross country team was repeat winners of the gold with a GPA of 3.92. Football player and senior Nathan Utecht was also named to the All-State Academic as an individual.
Forty-nine EV-W athletes lettered and maintained an accumulated 3.7 GPA or better during the fall sports season to qualify for the Central Minnesota Conference All Academic team.
