Eden Valley-Watkins jumped out to a five-run lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 6-5 victory over Annandale on Tuesday, April 18.
Annandale scored four seventh-inning runs in the failed comeback, on a walk by Nathan Green, a fielder’s choice by Connor Lampi, a single by Brandon Cooper, and an error.
Lane Harff earned the win for the Eagles. He allowed two hits and no runs over four innings, struck out four and walked none. Nolan Geislinger, Sam Nistler, and Landon Neiman all worked in relief helping steer their team to victory. Neiman recorded the last out to earn the save.
Ben Trutwin took the loss for Annandale. The hurler surrendered four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings, striking out 10.
