The EV-W Varsity Knowledge Bowl team of Reese Jansen, Nathan Utecht, Brad Dockendorf and Maggie Schmaltz took third place at subsections Tuesday, March 14, at Sartell. The team advanced to sections March 20 in Sartell.
St. John?Äôs Prep finished first in the meet, followed by St. John?Äôs Prep II. EV-W finished one point out second place.
Also advancing were Mayer Lutheran I, Kimball I, Hinckley-Finlayson I, Rush City I, and Mayer Lutheran II. The Varsity 2 team of Hannah Holmberg, Grant Kahlstorf, George Lemke, JaDyn Nohner and Sarah Wirz placed ninth, one-half point out of the last qualifying spot.
Twenty-four teams will be competing in the section meet with the top three teams from Class A and the top three teams from Class AA advancing to the state tournament April 6-7, at Craguns in Brainerd.
