Five members of the Eden Valley-Watkins speech team qualified for the State tournament last week. Patrick Latchem in Humorous Interpretation, Meredith Gruenes in Informative Speaking, Anne Benson and Adrienne Gruenes in Great Speeches, and Alex Theis in Serious Poetry Interpretation all participated in the tournament in Chanhassen..
In finals, junior Patrick placed sixth and junior Meredith placed seventh.
