Eva Borman of Kimball died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins where she had been a resident the past seven years. She was 97.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball with Rev. Heather Klason officiating. Burial followed in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to services.
Eva Helen Borman was born Jan. 28, 1906, in Kimball to Hom-er and Lena (Guptill) Boggs. She married Pete Borman in 1927; he preceded her in death in 1962. Eva cooked at Kimball schools from 1942-1947, owned and operated Eva’s Café in Kimball from 1955-1962, and then was a cook and housekeeper in Minneapolis from 1962-1967. She was a member of the Kimball United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed reading and following Minnesota Twins baseball.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband Pete Borman; son Jack Borman and daughter Alyce McKinnon; and brothers Earl, Bernard and Denny Boggs.
She is survived by sons Jerry (and Doris) Borman of Morton, and Robert (and Muriel) Borman of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Leon and Susie Fietek, Gene Boggs, Bruce Dalbec, Darrel Curtis, and Don Sommers.
