Everett Potter, 65

Everett Potter of Watkins, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 65.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
Everett L. Potter was born Nov. 5, 1951, in Omaha, Neb., to Meredith and Betty Marie (Galloncamp) Potter. He grew up and graduated from high school in Omaha. He had resided in Minneapolis, Hutchinson, and St. Cloud where he attended St. Cloud State University. While in St. Cloud, Everett met his life partner Margaret ?ÄúMugs?Äù Ertl and he moved to Watkins where he resided to the present time.
Everett was a brittle diabetic and had been wheel chair bound for many years. He had received a kidney transplant at the University of Minnesota Hospital in 1991.
Everett enjoyed writing poetry and he was an avid movie buff, having recorded more than 1,000 movies. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed sketching to pass the time. Everett also enjoyed playing games, especially trivia games, and he enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He loved pets and had a cat Simba, and two dogs Petie and Georgia surviving him. He also had dogs that preceded him in death Oscar, Ernie, Charlie, and Loopy Lu.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Dorian Emeric; and brothers Darryl Potter and Paul Potter.
He is survived by his common law wife and life partner Margaret ?ÄúMugs?Äù Ertl; sons Jeramiha (and Stacey) Potter of Fargo, N.D., Mathew (and fianc?©e Stephanie LaCroix) of Fargo, N.D.; brothers and sisters Carol Duplex of Omaha, Neb., Larry Potter, Brenda White-Lubke of Greenville, Texas, Bill Potter of Omaha, Neb., Freda Boykin of Shreveport, La., John Potter of Pontiac, Mich., and Herman Potter of Plattsmouth, Neb.
