Todd Johnson, owner of Parts City in Kimball, had a dream some time ago: to one day own a hardware store/general store to serve the community in Kimball. Today, that dream has been actualized. Parts City recently expanded to include a Hardware Hank franchise to supply a wide variety of hardware goods.
A new addition to the building added roughly 5,000 square feet of space for the hardware section of the store.
“We’re trying to feature a little bit of everything of your odds and ends for hardware,” said store manager Andrew Hengel. “Plumbing, electrical, household paint, hunting, and fishing.” These are among the litany of stock added to the store.
They’re still calculating what sells and what sits in the background, Hengel says.
“It’ll take us another year or so to fine tune what the city of Kimball needs, we are listening to what they’re looking for.”
Parts City’s hours are Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
