The Express traveled to Farming for the Central Valley League/Stearns County League Challenge. They played the Richmond Royals Saturday, June 10. Both teams had seven hits each, but the Royals outscored the Express, 4-2 on the day.
The Royals scored two in the first inning, and the Express never caught up.
Eli Emerson would earn the win for Richmond. Zach Dingmann would take the loss for Kimball, with Ben Johnson pitching one inning in relief.
Leading the Express, Adam Beyer scored in the fourth inning, and Zach Sufka scored in the sixth. Brooks and Brian Marquardt had an RBI apiece.
Neither team hit better than a single on the game.
For the Royals, Adam Backes scored twice, and Dusty Adams and Connor Dols each scored. RBI were hit by Backes, DJ Schleicher, and Brent Ruegemer.
The Express next host the Eden Valley Hawks at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 18.
