The Express traveled to St. Nicholas Sunday afternoon to face the Nicks. The Express scored early and often, with only one run for the Nicks who lost the day, 13-1.
Every Express run was made the hard way, with no home runs in the game. Tommy Friesen hit a triple, and 3 singles to lead the Express. Ben Johnson hit a double. Austin Ruehle and Adam Beyer each hit a pair of singles. Nearly every man on the Express roster crossed the plate at least once.
Ben Johnson started on the mound and pitched 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Matt Dingmann picked up the win pitching the fifth inning. Andy Dingmann pitched the final 2 innings, recording 2 strike-outs.
Kaiden Rausch is tagged with the loss. He allowed 6 runs on 9 hits while striking out 3. Connor Lincoln and Nick Howen pitched in relief, just over 1 inning apiece.
Tanner Anderson hit a double. He was knocked home by a single by Alex Foehrenbacher in the third inning.
Next up, the Express play at Cold Spring Springers, in a non-league game, Wednesday, July 6, starting at 7:30 p.m.
