The Kimball Express hosted the St. Augusta Gussies Saturday, July 11. The Express scored first, a single run in the first inning. The Gussies scored four in the fourth to pull ahead, but the Express scored five in the fifth and kept the lead from there. Another two in the eighth sealed the win for the Express.
Adam Beyer hit a double and single for 3 RBI on the game. Austin Ruehle, Ben Johnson, Cade Marquardt, Jeremy Kuechle, and Matt Dingmann each hit a pair of singles.
Zach Dingmann earned the win for the Express, hurling the first five innings. He struck out five and walked five while allowing all four St. Augusta runs. Matt Dingmann pitched the final four of the game.
Travis Laudenbach would be tagged with the loss; he struck out two but allowed seven runs in the first seven innings. Tyler Beautch pitched the final inning in relief.
For the Gussies, Adam Gwost hit a double. Tommy Friesen hit a pair of singles for 2 RBI. Mitch Gwost and Marcus Lommel each had a RBI.
