The Kimball Express hosted the St. Augusta Gussies Sunday afternoon, May 7. The two teams were well matched, scoring back and forth and holding a tie for several innings. It would take 11 innings of play until the Express emerged victorious, winning 10-9.
Andy Dingmann earned the win for Kimball, and Aaron Fruth would be tagged with the loss.

In the second inning, Kimball answered the Gussies?Äô two runs with four of their own: Ben Theisen, Brooks Marquardt, Kyle Winter, and Joey Von Wahlde each scored. Two more runs in the third, by Johnson and Theisen, put the Express ahead. Five runs by St. Augusta in the fourth were answered by one in the fifth, by Brooks Marquardt, tying the score at 7-7. Two Express runs in the eighth, by Austin Ruehle and Von Wahlde, were answered by two Gussie runs in the ninth, pushing the game into overtime. A run by Kyle Winter in the bottom of the eleventh inning ended the game, 10-9 for the Express.
