Patrick ArnoldExpress Lose at Joe Faber Field

Joe Faber Field and the St. Cloud Orthopedic Ice were supposed to be highlights of the Express schedule this Friday May 17, but after a 9-2 drubbing it quickly became a lowlight.

The game was a lot closer than the score indicates. Take away an error here or there and the game could have ended up with a whole different outcome. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, the Express still lost the game.

Bottom line, the Express could not get anything shaking at the plate, and just were not clicking in the field as they committed three costly errors and handed this game to the Ice on a platter.

Express alone atop CVL North

With a win Sunday, May 19, over the Luxemburg Brewers the Express took over sole position of first place in the CVL North Division. Both teams came into the game tied at 1-0 for the division lead, and with the Express coming away with a 9-6 victory they stand alone at the top.

The score was closer than it should have been as the Express defense committed six errors in the game. Two costly errors in the seventh inning by the Express outfield gave the Brewers new life and got the score to within three runs. Luckily Krippner would get out of the jam, and Kuechle came in and slammed the door shut on the Brewers’ comeback hopes.
Express earn come-from-behind CVL win

Comeback baseball was what the Express needed Sunday afternoon, May 26 as they traveled to Marty and beat the Pearl Lake Lakers 5-4 in ten innings of Central Valley League action on a damp Memorial Day Weekend afternoon.

This was a big win for the Express as they improved their record to 3-0; they sit alone a top the Central Valley League North Division. The win also gets them back to .500 overall at 4-4.

Express at Dassel

Kimball traveled to Dassel on Friday night, May 24, and all that needs to be said here is 17 strikeouts. That was how many times Kimball batters were sent back to the pine after swatting at mosquitoes or watching a good pitch from the best seat in the house, the batters box.
