Have you considered switching to robotic milking on your farm, but you aren?Äôt sure it?Äôs the right choice? Are you worried about your farm?Äôs profitability? University of Minnesota Extension and Minnesota Dairy Initiatives-Central Region are here to help. They are offering a workshop for dairy farms considering robots, but wanting to take a more in-depth look at the economics associated with the decision. This workshop will help you learn if robots make sense for your farm.
Join us from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, April 6. The workshop will be held at the St. Cloud Regional Extension Office, located at 3601 18th Street South, Suite 113, St. Cloud.
The interactive workshop will use a recently developed online tool that allows you to enter your farm?Äôs data and examine how switching to robots will affect your farm?Äôs profitability. Learn the major factors that affect robot profitability and the keys to their success. If you have any current bids for buildings or equipment, you are encouraged to bring them for input into the tool. The tool will also ask for feed cost and other similar information.
Please bring your own laptop or tablet to run the tool. If you do not have a device you can bring, we have a limited number of laptops available for use. Please call Jim Salfer at (320) 203-6093 prior to the workshop to reserve a laptop.
