Faber completes season sweep of Bulldogs

The Kimball Cubs’ eighth-grade baseball team hosted the Paynesville Bulldogs in their final matchup of the season.

Paynesville had one runner cross the plate in the first inning after a couple of hits. Kimball responded with two in their half on a two-run single by Chase Winter. The Cubs tacked on -single runs in the third and fourth innings before scoring three more in the fifth. Kolby Foster’s two-RBI base knock -widened the margin, and the Cubs secured the season sweep of the Bulldogs with a 7-1 win.

Cooper Faber started on the bump for Kimball. Faber threw a complete game to pick up the win. He struck out nine, walked two, and scattered seven hits in his -outing.

At the plate, the Cubs collected five hits and five walks. Chase Winter had two of the hits. Jonah Klein had two walks, and scored two runs. Winter and Foster each had two RBI. With the victory, the Cubs are 12-2 on the season with three games coming up in the final week.
