Independent School District #739, in collaboration with Lutheran Social Service of MN, jointly hired Sara Watts as the new Kimball Family Advocate. Stearns County Family Service Collaborative provided the funding to add this position to the school district. The family advocate position was created to provide services to persons in the Kimball School District. Watts will be available to assist families in accessing support services, completing paperwork and meeting other needs. The family advocate also acts as a link to resources that promote success in school, home and community. Services include: o Parent education. o Applications for services including counseling, insurance, transportation, housing, childcare, unemployment and emergencies. o Family and student advocacy. o Resource directory. o Lending library.
