Family members of the 34th Red Bull Infantry Battalion will be in St. Paul
Sunday for their Family Reintegration Academy. The Academy, presented by the
Minnesota National Guard Deployment Cycle Support, Beyond the Yellow Ribbon
team, prepares family members for the homecoming of their Servicemember.
In the spirit of the Holidays, Family Readiness Group Holiday Parties will
feature some special guests.
-Santa and his helpers will be delivering 200 gifts that have been
handpicked for children by Minnesota Association of United States Army (AUSA)
volunteers. Additionally the President of the local General John Vessey
Chapter, Kirk Cooper and the State President of AUSA, Paul Wagner will be
there to meet families.
-Miss Teen MN International 2009 – Jessica Scheu will be visiting
children. Her platform is “May no Soldier go unloved.”
-Book donations raised by Barnes & Noble, Maplewood will be given
away to children and family members. More than 2700 books have been donated
by Maplewood shoppers and delivered to Family Assistance Centers for military
families throughout the state. Their Holiday book drive continues through
December 31st.
