FFA participates in Kimball Days activities

·

Free Teen Dance Kimball FFA members set up a concession stand selling pop, water and candy at the free teen dance held Friday night at the high school cafetorium. Members also sold glow necklaces. Over all, the night was extremely successful with 10 to 15 FFA members assisting at the dance and helping to clean up at the end of the night. FFA car wash The Kimball FFA Chapter held a donation-based car wash Saturday in the elementary school parking lot. Signs were placed around town and several people stopped for a quick wash. The event was a big success in raising FFA awareness in the community. All profits from the car wash will benefit our local chapter. Kimball Days parade The chapter participated in the annual parade with a float pulled by the Beck family’s antique John Deere tractor. About 10 members, including the new year’s officer team wearing their jerseys, rode on the float and handed out candy, pop and freezies to the crowd. An additional passenger rode on the float with us – a goat. Mr. Traurig, the high school athletic director, was included in the FFA activities as ice cold water was poured on him at the end of the parade. School year around the corner School begins Wednesday, Sept. 1. Students are encouraged to watch for FFA events to be posted in the halls and on the TV monitors at the high school. Membership is open to students in grades 9-12. The cost to join is $15. For more information on the Kimball FFA, visit their Web site at www.kimballffa.com.
