Fibershed meeting May 20

There will be an informational meeting about a Fibershed in Central Minnesota Saturday, May 20.

A Fibershed is for bringing together local people who raise fiber animals with local people who use fiber products like spinners, knitters, and consumers who wear knit clothing. All are welcome to attend.

There will be locally produced fiber items on display from sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas. Spinning wheels and knitting machines will also be on display. Fibershed organizers will be on hand to answer questions about raising, processing and selling locally grown fiber.

(The word Fibershed identifies a geographical area, like the word Watershed. This Fibershed is for all of central Minnesota.)

The event will be 1:30-4 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at Rocking Horse Farm on County Road 74, near I-94 and Hwy 15 South, north of Luxemburg. It is free and open to the public.

For more information contact Carole (320) 252-2996.

The Knitshop at Rocking Horse Farm is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10-6 and features locally raised fiber of all types, along with spinning, felting and knitting supplies.
