Fire at Meeker County Jail

At about 1:19 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fire in the Meeker County Jail.

Deputies and the Litchfield Fire Department responded to the scene. A small fire was started from construction sparks in a jail cell. The fire was extinguished by maintenance staff with a fire extinguisher.

The jail was ventilated by the Litchfield Fire Department. There were no injuries or damage reported from the fire.
