Florence Worden, formerly of Kimball, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, at Bethany Ecumen of Litchfield. She was 91.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Forest City with Fr. Jeffrey Horejsi as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
Florence Irene Worden was born in Clear Lake to Albert and Ann (Nelson) Gohman Jan. 13, 1927. She grew up in Waite Park. Florence was united in marriage to Leslie Worden Dec. 10, 1949, in Litchfield. Together they farmed near Forest City. They had crops, various animals including mink; and they also sold boots. Florence also worked at Rest-A-While in Kimball. She was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church where she was a part of the quilting group and served on the parish council. She was also a member of the Forest City Historical Council, Forest City Women’s Club, Forest City Card Club, and was a lifetime member of the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, crocheting, bowling, throwing darts, and traveling.
Florence is preceded in death by her husband Leslie Worden; parents Albert and Ann Gohman; sisters Margie Bakeman, Ruth Henson, Lorraine Pauls, Leona Gohman, and Helda Anyer; and brothers Herbert, James and Eugene Gohman.
She is survived by sister-in-law Lorraine Gohman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
