Forest City Threshers ‘thank you’

·

A roast beef dinner was served up to more than 160 guests at the Forest City threshing show grounds on Sunday, March 26, by board members and volunteers of the Forest City Threshers Association. The meal consisted of sliced roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, bread, cake with strawberries and whipped cream, and a beverage. President Frank Berg and family were among the servers and volunteers who assisted in the preparation, serving of the meal, and the cleanup afterwards. Other board members and volunteers included the Jen Barka family, Dave and Jan Jutz, Dale Groskreutz, Maynard and Marge Theis, Don and Troy Heuer, and numerous others.

Proceeds from the event will be applied to the ongoing construction costs of the Women’s Activity Building. This past year, significant progress was made when the masonry work was completed on the east ends of the structure. Sheathing and siding of the north and south walls were also completed this past year. It is anticipated that wiring, plumbing, and interior work will be undertaken this summer contingent upon available funds. It is hoped that a restroom will be completed, a first aid station, a show office, and farmstead displays will be functional and operational for the show this coming year.

President Frank Berg has expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all of those who worked together to make the roast beef dinner a success, and also to all those who came and joined the threshers for a meal March 26.
