Fourth annual dinner with an author

The Kimball Area Friends of the Library will host its fourth annual “Dinner With An Author” Friday, Nov. 7. This year’s featured Minnesota author is Robert Alexander, who wrote The Kitchen Boy . Robert Alexander (better known as mystery writer R.D. Zimmerman) graduated from Michigan State University in 1976 with a degree in Russian language and creative writing. Alexander studied at Leningrad State University and worked on an American exhibition in the Soviet Union in 1978.   In 1990, Alexander formed a business partnership with a Russian friend in St. Petersburg. Together they own a dental clinic, a chain of coffee shops and, most recently, an espresso/wine ba in the famed Hermitage Museumr. Alexander currently lives in Minneapolis. “Dinner with an author” will begin at 6 p.m Friday, Nov. 7. A chicken dinner will be served at 6:45 p.m. followed by Alexander’s presentation and book signing. Books will be available for purchase. Tickets are $10 for Friends of the Library, and $12 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 31, and are available at the Kimball Public Library or from a Kimball Area Friends of the Library member.
