Frank nLeftyi Nelson of Watkins, formerly of South Haven, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at his residence. He was 87. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Rev. Edward Groop officiating. Burial followed in the Cokato Finnish Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to services. Frank Irvin Nelson was born June 28, 1916, in Cokato to Frank O. and Hilma K. (Ruona) Nelson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and enjoyed music and sporting events. Frank was preceded in death by his brothers Ernest, Lawrence and Elmer, and half-brother Rudy Sarenpa. He is survived by his half-sister Irene Sarenpa of Schofield, Wis., and numerous cousins and friends.
