Frank Pope of Kimball died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at the home of his niece in St. Cloud. He was 100.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pearl Lake, with Fr. Jerry Nordick and Fr. Luke Steiner officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at Pearl Lake.
Frank Leo Pope was born Feb. 13, 1909, in Maine Prairie Township to Henry and Lena (Zutz) Pope. He married Marie Scheeler May 13, 1944, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. He was self-employed as a farmer and a lumber sawyer. He was a member of the St. Cloud Eagles. Frank enjoyed lumber sawing, fishing, hunting and farming.
He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Pope and sister Hulda Pope.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Marie; brother Wheeler (and Laura) Pope of St. Cloud; sister-in-law Elsie Pope of Mendota Heights; and many nieces and nephews.
