There are several people living in our area who are deaf or heard of hearing. Many of them may not have strobe-flashing fire alarms or smoke detectors in their homes because of the high cost (around $170), or they may be unaware of this new technology. In order to bridge this safety gap for local families, the Kimball Fire Department has available applications for these special alarms. Thanks to the cooperation of the St. Cloud Fire Department and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Central Minnesota, these devices will be made available free of charge to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. To get an application, call Tom Ehlinger at (320) 398-3645 or 398-5903.
