Free legal clinics for veterans

The St. Cloud VA and several community partners continue to team together to provide free legal consultation services for veterans.

Legal consultations are available for a wide variety of topics, including housing, consumer affairs, child support, employment, and family law.

St. Cloud Area

A drop-in legal clinic for veterans is scheduled from 
10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 23, in the Auditorium (Building 8) on the St. Cloud VA campus. An appointment is not required for this clinic.

Sponsored by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, in partnership with Central Minnesota Legal Services, the clinic has a variety of participants available to assist Veterans, including attorneys, County Veterans Service Officers, child support officers, and VA homeless program staff.

Veterans with questions about child support and family, employment, benefits, expungment, debt collection, and criminal matters are invited to attend.

Additionally, a recurring legal clinic, provided by Central Minnesota Legal Services, is held at the St. Cloud VA on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, from noon to 2 p.m., in Building 28, Room 126, on the St. Cloud VA campus. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted on a space-available basis. Call (320) 253-0138 or (800) 622-7773 to schedule an appointment.

West Central Minnesota

Free legal consultation, provided by Central Minnesota Legal Services, is available for Veterans at the Montevideo VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic from noon to 2 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accepted on a space-available basis. Call (320) 403-1051 to schedule an appointment.
