Dear EV-W School-Community, Veterans Day

I’d like to thank Kris Latcham, Kim Salo, the Senior High Band and Choir, along with our high school poets for their wonderful performances at our Nov. 9 Veterans program. Throughout the evening we observed Veterans Day in honor of the brave men and women who served our country in the armed forces. We have a large number of veterans in our communities and workforce, and we salute each veteran for their selfless dedication to preserving life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

A Navy Veteran calling herself Sailor Jerri on her YouTube account rewrote the lyrics to Hallelujah. As a tribute to our Veterans, please take a moment to click on Hallelujah Veterans Version and reflect on the hardships and sacrifices endured by those who serve.

On behalf of the Eden Valley-Watkins School District, we appreciate the service and sacrifices made by our veterans. Happy Veterans Day from the entire EV-W faculty and staff.

American Education Week

American Education Week is Nov. 15-19, 2021. This provides the opportunity to celebrate public education, and recognize our EV-W faculty and staff. American Education Week is observed in all communities annually for the purpose of informing the public of the accomplishments and service of the public schools and its educators. Typically, American Education Week is always celebrated the week prior to the week of Thanksgiving.

Take a moment to send an email, card, or letter to thank an educator for their time, commitment, and service in educating our youth and nurturing our next generation of leaders.

Special thanks to all of our EV-W faculty and staff.

Stay well.
