Fair Haven Farms has been selected to host this spring’s Kimball Area Friends of the Library membership luncheon from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Marsha Anklam and sisters-inlaw Barb Westman and Sue Hankerson will prepare cherry chicken salad, asparagus soup and rhubarb dessert for the occasion. Westman and Hankerson have had several years experience with their catering business Cottage Gourmet. This year’s guest speaker is the Youth Services coordinator for Great River Regional Library, Heidi Hoks. Hoks, a professional storyteller since 1978, has performed for schools, public libraries, conferences, community events and religious events. She has also done workshops and artist-in-residencies, both in storytelling performance and on writing personal and historical narratives. The price of the ticket is $10 and can be purchased at the Kimball Library. Printed directions to the farm will also be available at the library. Space is limited.
