Friendship Ventures appoints new conference services director

Frienship Ventures has named a new conference services director. Elizabeth Zimmerman, originally from Minnesota, was most recently with the United States Environmental Protection Agency in New York, N.Y. She is a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve and served 10 years of active duty with the Navy. Zimmerman will manage conference and retreat services, and will also oversee the food service and housekeeping operations for Friendship Ventures programs at Camp Friendship near Annandale. The conference services program makes Camp Friendship facilities available to non-profit organizations, businesses, and school and church youth or adult groups for conferences or retreats. Friendship Ventures offers services to children and adults with disabilities. Program services include summer and winter camps, respite care, escorted travel trips and family services. Camp Friendship is available to outside groups during fall, winter and spring. Rents and service fees support Friendship Ventures’ programs, which serve nearly 3,000 people with disabilities.
