How long has it been since your beloved pet got a professional grooming? The wait is over.
Until today, options for pet grooming have been few and far between. Now there’s a new option close to home. Fun Size Pet Spa is now open on Main Street in Kimball.
Tamara Henke of Darwin has opened Fun Size Pet Spa at 60 Main Street in Kimball (the former location of Diva’s salon). She held a “grand opening” on Dec. 31, and the spa has been open for services since then. She is taking appointments, and the spa is open to walk-in nail trims.
The spa will groom dogs, cats, mice, guinea pigs, and even reptiles. Services provided include desheds, nail trims, cleaning, and typical grooming.
Henke has 13 years of experience in grooming pets, most recently working in Sauk Rapids. She had been working many years in food service, and liked it, but she’s always wanted to work with pets. At home, Henke has seven cats, two dogs, and a bearded dragon, in addition to her two sons who are 11 and 13.
The name “Fun Size” comes from the nickname she’s had since she was 15.
Why Kimball? She’s always loved Kimball, and her vet is here. Everyone here is easy to talk to, and she feels very welcome.
Interestingly, building co-owners Jake Emmings and Ben Knaus had been discussing what business should locate there. Jake told Ben a pet grooming business would be perfect. The next day is when Henke called to inquire about leasing the space.
“I love making animals happy!” says Henke. “Customers and clients are awesome. Everyone is like family.”
