Gardening Knowledge for Free – Feb. 3

The Stearns County Extension Master Gardeners are excited to host their Gardening Knowledge for Free event again this year. It is never too early to start thinking about gardening. This event is open and free to any gardener or want-to-be-gardener who is interested in expanding his or her knowledge.

This year’s event will be Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud. The day begins with refreshments and check-in at 8 a.m. Classes begin at 8:30 a.m., and the day will conclude by noon.

All sessions will be taught by University of MN Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Stearns County who have expertise in the topic. There is no charge for this event, but pre-registration is required. Register at http://z.umn.edu/gkff or call (320) 255-6169 by Wednesday, Jan. 31. Coffee and rolls will be available for a free-will donation.

At the time of registration, registrants will need to select one workshop from each session. The 2024 session topics include:

1. Growing Garlic

2. Selecting and Growing Daylilies

Session C: (10:30 a.m.)

1. Extreme Weather, Climate Change and Gardens

2. Growing Natives
