George Vigoren of Kimball died of leukemia Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the University of Minnesota Hospital, Minneapolis. He was 61. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Hope Covenant Church, St. Cloud, with the Rev. Bill Dornbush officiating. Interment was in Lake Union Covenant Cemetery, South Haven. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and one hour prior to services at the church. There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. Melvie officiating. George J. Vigoren was born July 13, 1945, in Minneapolis to Roy and Evelyn (Lehmann) Vigoren. Upon completion of service in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, he graduated from the University of Minnesota. George has lived at Kimball since 1974, and married Barbara Trentacosti Feb. 5, 1982, in Stillwater. He was a self-employed training consultant and member of Hope Covenant Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and singing. George was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janet. George is survived by his wife Barbara (Trentacosti) Vigoren of Kimball; daughters Kendra and Kelsey Vigoren of Kimball and Amy Trentacoste of Minneapolis; sister Marty Matula of Clearwater, Fla.; brothers and their wives Gerald (and Judy) of Green Valley, Ariz., Jack (and Margie) of Maple Plain, Bob (and Lourdes) of Dallas, Texas, Paul of Minneapolis, Doug (and Sandy) of Minneapolis; many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Kendra, Jack, Bob, Paul and Doug Vigoren and Lanny Lundquist. Music for the service was provided by the Hope Covenant Church choir, pianist Cheryl Larson and vocalists Kendra, Doug and Jack Vigoren. Memorials are preferred to the Leukemia Foundation.
