The Stearns County Public Health Division has received its flu vaccines and has scheduled flu shot clinics for the year. The clinics are open to anyone. Those at higher risk of getting the flu are especially encouraged to be immunized. Higher risk persons include anyone over 65, those with chronic health problems, pregnant women in their second and third trimesters, residents of long-term care facilities, babies 6-23 months, and those who take care of these individuals. The flu clinic schedules are as follows: o Cold Spring – John Paul Apartments, 200 North 8th Ave., Nov. 10, 9-11 a.m. o St Cloud – Whitney Senior Citizen Center, 1527 Northway Dr., Nov. 14, 12:30-3 p.m. o Kimball – St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 441 East Hazel Ave., Nov. 21, 9:30-11:30 a.m. The cost of getting a flu shot is $7; Medicare Part B will pay for the shot. You must bring your Medicare card with you in order to have Medicare pay for your shot. Please wear short sleeves to the clinic. Expect to wait 10 minutes afterwards as a precautionary measure. No appointment is necessary.
