March 3, 2007 Kimball 38 – EVW 76 Kimball traveled to Eden Valley-Watkins for first round of playoffs on Saturday night. Kimball came out with a lot of determination. We had a game plan and we stuck to it. At half, Kimball was only down 12 and went into the locker room feeling very good about the game. The second half started slow for the Cubs offensively, Eden Valley-Watkins pulled out with a 10-0 run and Kimball could never regain We played hard and a lot of good things were shown on defense and offense. The girls were ready and played very well; they stuck to the game plan and if a few calls had gone differently, things may have been a lot closer at the end. Kimball was led by Brittnay Simmons nine points, Kayla Kastanek seven points, Mara Rippentrop six points and nine rebounds, Amanda Kuseske five points, Mindy Hurrle four points, Brianna Rosenow three points, Krystal Mackereth and Justine Ruehle added two points each. The Cubs ended a tough year, but in my eyes was very succesfull. The girls really developed into basketball players and with work this offseason, next year is looking good. A big THANK YOU to everyone involved with the program this year in all areas from third-grade up to Varsity, especially Gary Riess and Melissa Plakut, my assistant coaches. Also thank you goes out to the parents for all the support this year. Nathan Schwieters, head girls basketball coach Kimball High School
