Gluek Brewing Company marks 150 years

Lonestar concert Award-winning country music group Lonestar takes the stage July 28 at Gluek Brewing Company’s distribution center as part of the company’s 150th anniversary and Cold Spring’s Hometown Pride celebration. Founded in 1857, Gluek Brewing Company is the oldest and largest brewery in Minnesota. An award-winning brewery, the company is the nation’s largest producer of energy drinks, as well as craft beers and specialty drinks for major retailers throughout the United States. Lonestar, known for its hits “I’m Already There” and   “My Front Porch Looking In,” will be joined by guest performers Jamie O’Neal and Darryl Worley in the event, featuring music, motorcycle and skydiving displays, fireworks, as well as a variety of food and beverages. Beginning at 4 p.m., attendees can partake in food and beverage offerings – including Gluek’s locally crafted Stite Golden Pilsner and Light Lager, along with Killebrew Rootbeer and their new Cold Spring Hard Lemonade – and can peruse an Orange County Chopper as featured on the television series “American Chopper”. At 5:30 p.m., a Go Fast Sports sky diving team will perform for spectators with stunt-filled descent and at 5:45 p.m., music will fill the air as the three country music events storm the stage in turn. The night is set to end on a high note with fireworks at 10:45 p.m. Tickets are $30, plus tax, and available at Gluek Brewing Company, WIld Country 99 studios or at wildcountry99.com. Soldiers honored Minnesota National Guard and Army Reserve soldiers home from “Operation Iraqi Freedom” are invited, along with their guests, are welcome to enjoy the outdoor event at no charge. Soldiers will be honored during a special military tribute by former USO entertainer and current country music entertainer Worley. On the day of the event, after 4 p.m., each registered soldier can bring their guest and military ID to the will call booth and receive free entrance.
