Gregor Schneider died at his home Monday, April 3, 2017, surrounded by his family. He was 92.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Rockville. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 8:30-9 a.m. at the funeral home.
Gregor was born May 16, 1924, in Marty (Pearl Lake) to Charles and Ida (Schreiber) Schneider. He married Juletta Dietman June 23, 1948, at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rockville. Gregor worked for the Stearns County Highway Department for more than 25 years, and he was a hobby farmer. He loved playing cards, dancing, making homemade ice cream and sausage. He had a strong devotion to family, faith, and the Rosary. Gregor was a member of Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Gregor was preceded in death by his wife Juletta (Jan. 10, 2017), daughter Judith Mae Schneider, granddaughter Amy Elaine Welle, and siblings Alfred Schneider, Ida Schaefer, and Alex Schneider.
He is survived by his children Greg Jr., Elaine (and J.C.) Velasco, Kathy (and Howie) Syverson, JoAnn (and Chris) Lundby, Mark Schneider, Pat (and Joe) Welle, Rose (and Ed) Borman, Mary (and Brian) Feldhege; 20 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.
