Gymnastics team holds awards banquet

·

The Kimball Area High School Gymnastics Team held its end of the year awards banquet at Stanley’s Family Restaurant in Kimball. Team awards were designated by Kimball Area High School and were voted on by team members. It is a great honor for participants to be chosen in any of these categories by friends and teammates. Junior high Jamie Krantz was named most dedicated, improved and spirited.  Junior varsity Chelsey Wipper was named most dedicated, Whitney Thielman was named most spirited and Amanda Donabauer was named most improved and most valuable. Varsity Mandy Libbesmeier was named most dedicated, Katie Krantz was most improved, Mandy Gehrke was named most spirited, while Sarah Wysoski and Alison Rosha shared the title of most valuable. Varsity letters were given out at a team meeting. To receive a letter, gymnasts must compete in a majority of varsity meets on at least one event, and must contribute to the varsity score in at least half of those meets. A gymnast must complete the season in good standing with teammates and coaches. Other varsity letters may be given out at the coaches’ discretion. KAHS 2003 letter winners were Sarah Wysoski, Mandy Libbesmeier, Alison Rosha, Katie Krantz, Mandy Gehrke and Chelsey Wipper. No conference awards were given as Kimball gymnastics was not in a conference this year. At this time it has been decided by the Kimball School Board to cut the 7-12 gymnastics program for the 2003-04 school year.
