Giving money to charity has just gotten much easier! Harvest Bank has implemented a new “personal giving” option on the Harvest Bank website, a new online solution for donors to consolidate and manage all of their charitable giving, right through the convenience and security of the online banking platform.
Harvest Bank has partnered with GoodCoin (www.goodcoins.io), so that any qualifying donation can be made quickly and easily through the Harvest Bank charitable giving solution found by clicking on the first of three rotating tiles on the bank’s website homepage, www.harvestbankmn.com.
Harvest Bank Chairman, Bob Meyerson, believes this new offering will help stimulate more donations to nonprofit partners in the local areas we serve. “We have a long history of community involvement at Harvest Bank, and we’re passionate about helping people give back.” Charitable organizations which receive funding through Harvest Bank will incur a greatly reduced transaction processing fee as compared to fees charged by other platforms. Harvest Bank does not receive any fee from either the party donating or the organization receiving the donation.
To use the platform, anyone can set up a user account, and then will have access to this disciplined approach to giving, which features nonprofit research tools, structured monthly giving program options, as well as providing a convenient way to centralize access to donation receipts, making tax reporting much easier than traditional methods of receipt collection.
The platform, powered by GoodCoin’s technology, allows users to search over 1 million national and regional – with emphasis placed on local – nonprofits, and includes tools to help prospective donors understand how effective charities are at putting contributions toward their mission and essential services.
“Donors need more visibility into how their financial gifts to nonprofits are being put to use, and this charitable giving platform simplifies the research process to help people give smarter” says Meyerson. “We’re excited to be a part of a new movement of giving!”
Charitable organizations benefit as well by using the opportunity to accept donations directly through this online tool. Harvest Bank’s main intent for this platform is to feature local community organizations with prominence (typically those serving the areas of Kimball, St. Augusta, Atwater, and Kandiyohi), on a rotating basis. To be featured on Harvest Bank’s platform landing page, please contact Ella Meyerson (ellam@harvestbankmn.com).
Donations to 501(c)3 public charities may be tax deductible. GoodCoin retains only 2.9 percent (universal transaction fee) + $0.30 of each donation. By comparison, other sites have been known to charge 6 percent or more for such transactions. To find out more and to access the site, visit the Harvest Bank website: www.
harvestbankmn.com. We think you’ll appreciate this online method as a better way to contribute, in your community and around the world!
