The National Field Archery Association held their Outdoor Field National Championships in Mechanicsburg, Pa. July 25-29.
After a successful summer competing here in the Midwest, Hawkins Nyholm traveled out east (along with almost 600 others) to shoot with some of the best archers in the nation for a grasp at the coveted title.
Hawkins managed to claim that National Champion title, in his division, over a three-day period and 252 arrows later!
With still two more years to compete in his age division, Hawkins was elated to have come within just 6 points of beating the national record on the field round!
Hawkins is 9 years old and will be a fourth grader this Fall at Kimball Elementary and is the son of proud parents Jason and Leslie Nyholm of Kimball.
