Helena Anderson of Clear Lake died at St. Benedict’s Center in St. Cloud at the age of 84.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Becker Baptist Church in Becker with Rev. Rob Olsen officiating. Burial followed at the Becker Cemetery. Friends called one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church in Becker.
Helena was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Kingston to John and Lydia (Koski) Hendrickson. She married John Anderson on Sept. 3, 1938, in Minneapolis. They lived in Minneapolis before moving to Lake Julia near Clear Lake in 1979. She worked as a kitchen aid for Minneapolis Public Schools. She was very active in her church’s Ladies’ Sewing Club throughout the years. She was a Finnish praying wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Helena was preceded in death by her parents, nine brothers and sisters, and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her husband John of Clear Lake; children John (and Peggy) Anderson of Clear Lake, Karen (and Ronald) Ahlman of Clear Lake, Daniel (and Joan) Anderson of Andover, and Carol (and Chuck) Schmaedeke of Plymouth; brothers Heimer and Walter Hendrickson, both of Kingston; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are preferred to Becker Baptist Church or the third-floor Secured Unit at St. Benedict’s Center. Arrangements were by Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Becker.
