Hi folks! A very happy and joyful Easter to you all. My, this month went by fast. It came in so nice, but ever since then it was a real mixture of nice days, rainy days and snow. Mother Nature really couldn’t make up her mind what to do. Hopefully the April weather pattern will change. The Huberty Band came to welcome March with music and singing. We thank them for their faithfulness. Our Intergenerational children from Kimball came to share their talents with us. They helped us make some wind socks that we hung up from our ceiling in the dining and day rooms. We also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with the children. We all played Bingo and had a fun afternoon. The X Streams clown show came out one night. They put on humorous show and everyone seemed to enjoy them. The Resident Council had a fundraiser, so we baked some caramel bars – they sold out in a hurry. The “Wondering Wardrobe Co.” brought their line of clothing for us to look at and purchase. Staff members helped the residents get ready for the wardrobe. It’s nice to have them come here, since some people can’t go shopping to get the clothes they need. The IMPACT group of children came and played Jeopardy with us. It was a fun way to keep our minds working. Maynard Nathe came out one afternoon to brighten our day with his music and singing. Everyone loved to see him. The Valley Victors 4-H group put on a skit for us and then we played Bingo. Every one of the children got a prize, and those residents who had a bit of luck got prizes as well. Our birthday party of the month happened to land on the birthday of one of our residents. Some nursing students from the College of Saint Benedict are here a few days a week. They help care for the residents as they practice nursing skills. The residents enjoy seeing new faces once in a while. Well, it’s time to see what Ole and Lena have to say: Ole and Lena went to a revival meeting where an evangelist was conducting a very emotional service. Working up to a fever pitch, the preacher man exhorted the crowd. “All of you who want to go to heaven, step forward. Come up to the altar.” Fifty people came forward – everyone except Ole and Lena. The evangelist spotted the two hold-outs in the audience and shouted, “Don’t you two want to go to heaven?” “Sure ve do,” answered Ole. “But ve didn’t know you vas getting up a load to go now.”
