The formation meeting of the Highway 15 Corridor Coalition will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 21, at the Hutchinson Event Center. The coalition will work to preserve and improve the level of service along the full length of Highway 15, from the Iowa border to the St. Cloud area. Segments of the corridor have experienced strong growth over the past few years, which has caused some problems in the level of highway service. Organizers hope to develop a coalition along the entire length of the highway. Action must be taken to prevent further degradation. Highway 15 is vital to the economy of the cities through which it passes. It is hoped that community leaders from government and business will support and participate in the coalition. Existing coalitions around the state have shown that such organizations can, and do, make a positive difference to their respective highway corridors. Invitations have been sent to all local governments along the corridor, but the meeting is open to anyone interested in attending.
