Homecoming at KAHS, Sept. 22-26

The most important thing on students’ mind next week will be homecoming activities and school spirit. The seniors at Kimball Area High School have chosen the song “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica as this year’s homecoming theme. The colors for the festivities are black and silver. Dress-up days Kimball high school students dress up for each theme day of the week listed below. Coronation The community is invited to attend homecoming coronation 2003 at 8 p.m. Sept. 23. The entry fee is $1. This year’s nominees are: Amy Arnold, Holly Froeh-ling, Brianna Libbesmeier, Mel-anie Marquardt, Kelly Lochen, Jeremy Dahnke, Luke Deutsch, Preston Looman, Gary Salmela and Zach Mackereth. Sporting events The lady Cubs will take on the Rockford Rockets Thursday, Sept. 25. The junior-varsity game will be at 6 p.m., and the varsity game starts at 7:30 p.m. The Kimball Cubs football team faces the Rockets at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. The pep band will play at both events and the cheerleaders will be at the football game. Homecoming dance Homecoming week will end with the student government-sponsored dance following the football game Friday evening. Community members are invited to attend any or all of these events. You don’t need to be in high school to show your pride! Submitted by Andrea Miller  and Jenna Stenger ————————————————— Theme dress-up days Monday  “Dress up like your favorite anything.” Tuesday  “Dress-up day.” Students should dress their best, whether it’s a new dress or their dad’s old leisure suit. Wednesday  “Get-up-and-go day” is the day of comfort at KAHS. Even faculty members seize the   opportunity to wear pajamas to work. Thursday  “Class act day.” Each grade decides on its own theme. Friday  “School spirit day.” Friday is the day to show your school pride. Students wear everything from jerseys to headbands and face paint.
