Varsity defeats Holdingford 3-1

Thursday, Sept. 24, Kimball Cubs volleyball faced off in action against the Holdingford Huskers during Homecoming. The Lady Cubs found their rhythm right away. They served and swung aggressively and helped Molly Hurrle move the ball around well. The Cubs wrapped up set one 25-12. They continued their momentum into the second set, making some great defensive plays and putting the ball down. Energy from the bench and the court and aggressiveness helped the Cubs finish with a score of 25-18. The third set went to Holdingford, 19-25.

The Cubs started with a few unforced errors. Between missing some crucial serves and playing flat, the Cubs were forced to a fourth set. The Lady Cubs started strong and never looked back in the final set. They finished the match with a 25-13 score. Stat leaders for the evening included Kelsi Woods with 18 digs, Rachel Lahr with 12 kills and 8 digs, Molly Hurrle with 34 set assists, Shannon Donnay with 7 kills and 3 solo blocks, Tesslynn Callander with 12 points and 2 aces, 15 kills, and 10 digs. The Cubs will play Eden Valley-Watkins at Eden Valley next Thursday, Oct. 1.

Kimball junior varsity defeats Holdingford 2-0

On the eve of Homecoming, the junior varsity Cub volleyball team beat the Holdingford Huskers 2-0. The Cubs came out strong, serving and hitting aggressively. They had high energy and were talking well on the court. They finished the first set 25-16. They repeated the 25-16 score with the second set as well. The junior varsity record as of now is 6 and 5.
