Homeless night out

·

We’ve all seen the signs, “Will work for food” and we all have different opinions regarding the people on the sides of the highways or at the intersections of roads who hold these signs. It’s these opinions that shape our response to the signs we read. So our opinions or perspectives matter, but they are not as important as what we do about those opinions or signs. A handful of junior high and high school students are responding in a powerful way, and are asking for your help in their efforts. They have read the signs and are asking for you to partner with them in their response. At 6 p.m. Sept. 26, these students are setting up a homeless community where they will leave the comforts of their beds, TVs, computers, and homes in an effort to raise awareness and a joined voice in helping those who are homeless or burdened by difficulty. Their community will be set up on the southwest corner of Highways 15 and 55. To partner with them, come and walk through their community, bring non-perishable food for the local food shelf, bring money for the ministry in St. Cloud called “Place of Hope,” where they specialize in helping those who are in distress, or simply call Pastor Steve Rowland to discuss ways to partner with their efforts at (320) 250-9771.
