During this challenging flu season, St. Cloud Hospital and Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield are discouraging any visitors to hospitalized patients, particularly visitors who may be experiencing or recovering from flu-like symptoms.
At Meeker Memorial, visitors under age 16 will not be permitted. All persons entering the hospital must complete a wellness screening before each visit. Only children needing medical treatment should come to the hospital. Visiting hours are limited and only three visitors allowed at a time.
St. Cloud Hospital encourages family and friends of patients to share their well-wishes by phone or by sending a patient e-greeting through www.centracare.com.
People can actually be contagious the day before they have symptoms, coming to the hospital can spread germs to patients already medically vulnerable.
