School year ending early The last day of school for students at Kimball Elementary will be changed to Tuesday, June 3. This change is the result of only using one of the two snow days that were built into the school calendar. The district policy states that cancellations that are not needed will shorten the number of student days. This end of the year change only impacts the elementary school. The high school will continue to have Thursday, June 5, as their last day due to the late start caused by construction. Recess reinstated A few months ago a recommendation for budget reduction was made to the school board regarding recess time at the elementary. The recommendation was to change the way recess was supervised not the elimination of recess. This recommendation has now been retracted. A schedule has been rebuilt to maintain the current recess schedule.
