We Never Say Good-bye He lived his life in fullness, From the start until the end. His life was awe-inspiring, And so many called him friend. The Spirit’s love inside of him, Greater goodness couldn’t be found, His soul reflected beauty, And spread it all around. And now the pain envelops us, And doesn’t go away, The grief most times unbearable, As if it’s here to stay. But God’s presence touches deeply, Our souls so scarred with grief, He shows us glimpses of His love, Jake’s Spirit brings relief. We live our lives more deeply now, Even though our Spirits cry, We trust the things we cannot see, We never say good-bye. By friend and neighbor, Patty Dease, 2000 In memory of Jacob Robert Klein who died from injuries received in a plane accident on July 2, 2000.
